Review: As much as I like the setting of this film and the story itself, what really blew me away was the amazing acting by the entire cast. I can understand why Bryan Cranston is nominated for an Academy Award, but to be fair, there are almost too many good performances here to mention. A joy to watch.

Review: I was kind of expecting a bleak and quite depressing film when I sat down to watch Brooklyn. But I was wrong. It was sweet, moving and very well made. The acting was really good, and the script by Nick Hornby was a treat.

Review: Alicia Vikander really don't seem to be able to do anything wrong. Yet another good film with some great acting from her. Well made.

Review: Charlie Kaufman. How can you not love this amazing genius? He's without a doubt my favourite screen writer. There's not a single one of his films that I haven't enjoyed immensely, and Anomalisa is no exception. Beautiful stop-motion film that you really have to see.

Review: A good documentary about psycho parents. That's the only way I can describe these parents that bully their kids into becoming great athletes. Tragic people.

Review: January and February is the months when I enjoy watching all the films nominated for Academy Awards. Sometimes however it's nice with a bit of a change. I needed a bit of comedy today. So I decided on watching The Campaign. Far from a great movie, but I always enjoy Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. A film that filled its purpose tonight.

Review: I really wished I liked this film more than I did. The subject matter and the premise of it is really good, but there's something about it that doesn't really do it for me. The acting is good, I especially enjoyed the amazing work by young Jacob Tremblay. But the whole film felt too dreamy and fairytale like for me to really appreciate. But don't take my word for it, please do watch it yourself.

Review: There is something I don't quite get here. I enjoyed the film. The combination of Aaron Sorkin, Danny Boyle and actors such as Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet is a winning one. I just don't get this continuing fixation with Steve Jobs. Sure, he was a genius that managed to change the way we do stuff, but still. The story of him has been told so many times now that it more and more feels like a was a fictional character and not a person that have existed. But as I said, still a good movie, but not because it's about Steve Jobs.

The Danish Girl

The Danish Girl

Review: A really beautiful film about the Danish painters Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. The acting of Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander is really quite amazing, and they are the big reason that this film holds up to its promise. The story might not be quite accurate when it comes to portraying what really happened, but it's still a strong tale that is worth watching.

Review: Nothing about this so-called horror flick is scary. Or good. The story is quite weak, and the acting of Nathalie Dormer and Taylor Kinney is beyond boring.

Review: Another movie featuring Rocky Balboa. When I first heard about, I had to admit that I cringed a bit. But still, I was somewhat curious when I heard the reviews coming out. So I figured I had to see it. Glad I did. It wasn't bad at all actually, and Sylvester Stallone is doing some really good work in it.

Review: Spotlight is the true-story behind the 2002 expose into the Catholic Church's cover-up of decades of sexual abuse. It's a really well-crafted film that portrays classic reporter work in a good way. Nice casting too.

Review: A really well-made film that is based on real events. Not a huge fan of Tom Hanks, but both him and Mark Rylance is doing great work here, especially Rylance. Definitely worth watching.

Review: I really suck at mathematics, numbers and economics. So even if there was a lot in this movie that I couldn't quite grasp myself, I found it an interesting watch.

Review: I was looking forward to seeing this, but I kind of wished that I hadn't watched the documentary Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger recently. That kind of made this feel like a bit of a meaningless watch in some ways. Which is sad, because the story and some of the acting is really quite good.

Review: Visually and technically, this is a very good film. When it comes to the story and the typical American pompous stylings, it's not as impressive. Worth watching, but far from memorable.

The Revenant

Review: Whatever one might feel about Leonardo DiCaprio, one can't deny that he's an excellent actor. And he really carries this dark and bleak tale of a mans survival against all odds. Perhaps a bit too long, but still worth seeing.

2015. What's been good? Well, there has been quite a few good movies as well as a bunch of not-so-good movies. Among my favourite feature films I'd like to mention Boyhood, Whiplash, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. When it comes to documentaries, Adult Rappers, Rubble Kings, Salad Days and Stretch & Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives has to be mentioned especially. There has of course been a bunch of other films that are worth watching, but I think that these ones have been amongst my absolute favourites.

Inside Out

Review: Easily one of the funniest, and smartest, animated films I've seen in a long way. Inside Out really connects with what is going on inside each and every one of us, and how we chose to handle different situations. A must see.

Review: I never was a huge fan of Amy Winehouse, even if she undoubtedly was an amazing talent and wrote some really good songs. This is a very good documentary about her and her, in many ways, tragic life. Definitely worth checking out.

Review: This has been a good week. First watching the new Star Wars movie, and now the latest film by Quentin Tarantino. Even if I'm a big fan of him, not all of his movies are great. They are however always worth watching. I really liked this one though. It reminds in many ways of my all-time favourite movie, Reservoir Dogs, in the way that the majority of the film takes place in one room. Not his greatest movie, a bit predictable but still highly entertaining.

Review: Ahh! Finally! I've been waiting for this one! I know there are still quite a few people out there who haven't seen it yet, so I won't spoil it for you. All I can say is that I loved it! Some weak acting (but which Star Wars film hasn't featured that?), but other than that: amazing!
