Blue Jasmine

Blue Jasmine

Review: I always look forward to a new Woody Allen film. Not that all of them are good, but they're never bad either. Blue Jasmine is one of the really good ones though, and it's all because of Cate Blanchett's marvelous performance. She is truly one of the greatest actresses alive today.

Ender's Game

Ender's Game

Review: A decent action sci-fi based on Orson Scott Card's novel of the same name. Action packed, an ok story and some average acting. Easy entertainment but nothing else.

Behind the Candelabra

Behind the Candelabra

Review: I must say that I really enjoyed this film about Liberace. Mostly because of the surprisingly believable acting by Michael Douglas. He really transforms into the character here. It's also interesting to get a look into the life of the original flamboyant entertainer.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Review: I wasn't that impressed with the first installment in the Hunger Games trilogy. This second one was slightly better, but stil neither special or memorable.

Inside Llewyn Davis

Inside Llewyn Davis

Review: There is always something special about the films of Joel and Ethan Coen. I don't think they ever made one that I didn't like, and Inside Llewyn Davis is no exception. The story is about one week in the life of a singer-songwriter who is active in New York's folk music scene in 1961. It's a funny, warm and sad story that shows a bit of life itself.

American Hustle

American Hustle

Review: I know that American Hustle won 3 Golden Globes a couple of days ago, and it is a good film. But it's not that good. Apart from the acting of Christian Bale and Amy Adams, I'm not that impressed. A nice watch, but not a memorable one. Talking about Amy Adams btw. Her constant cleavage in every single scene really got a bit silly after a while. Just saying.

The Wolf of Wall Street

The Wolf of Wall Street

Review: I really do like this story about Jordan Belfort. Not so much for the story perhaps, but for the great acting from amongst others Leonardo DiCaprio. 3 hours is a bit too much though.
