The Queen of Versailles
The Queen of Versailles
Rating: 7/10
Review: The Queen of Versailles starts out feeling like a Wives of Beverly Hills kind of show, but ends up being an interesting story about a billionaire family and their financial struggles in the wake of the economic crisis. A quite bizarre tale it is.

The War Room
The War Room
Rating: 6/10
Review: The War Room is a 1993 American documentary film about Bill Clinton's campaign for President of the United States during the 1992 presidential election. It's an interesting watch, but I think I would have got more out of it if I had watched it earlier. Now, 21 years later, it doesn't feel as special as I'm sure it would have back then.

Review: I've heard many times through out the years that Hoop Dreams is a really good documentary about basketball, dreams, tears and hope. For some reason I've never got around to watching it until now. I'm glad though that I've finally seen it. Probably one of the best documentaries I've seen.

Återträffen
Rating: 3.5/10
Review: Återträffen got some great reviews when it came out last year, and even won some prizes. Personally I think the flick was highly overrated. I left the film feeling the least sympathy for the main character of all the people involved, and that means the film was a miss.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Rating: 6/10
Review: I can't say that I dug the first Captain America flick that much. Mostly because Captain America is a boring character compared to a lot of other superheroes. This one however, was better. Darker and, in my eyes, more entertaining.

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Review: Wow! That's basically all I can say about this film. Wow! Wes Anderson has done it again, and it's such a beautiful film. The choice of actors, settings, story, dialogue. Everything. Without a doubt one of the best films that will come out this year.

Review: The Selfish Giant is not a bad film. I understand what they try to do with it. But it doesn't do anything for me Apart from the acting that is good, the story is highly predictable and, at least for me, uninteresting.

Review: I finally got around to watching this film. I've been wanting to see it since it first came out, but for some reason I haven't done so until today. The film was as good as I had expected with some great acting from most of the cast. I had expected to be more touched by it though. Nevertheless, a must-see.

Philomena
Philomena
Rating: 6.5/10
Review: A warm and beautiful story with two great actors. This film is based on a true story, and a sad and interesting one it is. The only downside in the film is how they made the character Philomena a bit too much of a innocent, funny character at times. Maybe she was like that in real life, but I feel like they compromised her in favor of some Hollywood charm.

Review: I really liked Åsa Linderborg's novel Mig äger ingen when it came out in 2008. This film is losely based on that novel. It's a heartfelt and tragic film that really touches you. I'm not sure if I prefer it to the novel though, but the acting by especially Mikael Persbrandt and Ping Mon H. Wallén is really great and makes this a very good film indeed.
