Oasis: Supersonic

Oasis: Supersonic

Review: A quite good documentary about Oasis, or at least about Oasis as long as they were big and important. Would have liked it to capture the rest too.

Banking on Bitcoin

Banking on Bitcoin

Review: I sat down to watch this documentary hoping to get a little wiser about the concept of Bitcoin. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Review: Not entirely sure what I thought of this film. Not bad at all, but also not the least bit memorable. Decent in other words.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2

Review: I really dug the first instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy, and I really dug this follow up. Love the humour

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman

Review: One of the better DC films I've seen. Unfortunately there are some bad special effects in it that made me cringe a bit. Gal Gadot is great in the lead however and carries the movie.

Alien: Covenant

Alien: Covenant

Review: Not at all bad, even though the concept of new Alien movies is quite uninteresting if you ask me.

American Anarchist

American Anarchist

Review: I suppose most people have heard about The Anarchist Cookbook. I'm not sure that too many know anything about the man behind it, William Powell. This documentary confronts the writer with the tragic influence it has had, and we get to meet a writer in almost complete denial.

Rating: 5/10

Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press

Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press

Review: An interesting documentary about how rich people support court trials in order to silent the free press.

Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell

Review: I loved the original Ghost in the Shell film från 1995. The only good thing about the new whitewashed version is the effects.

The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution

The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution

Review: After reading tons of books about The Black Panther Party when I was in my teens, this documentary by Stanley Nelson didn't really offer that much new info for me. It was however definitely worth watching.

Rogue One

Rogue One

Review: Rogue One was better than I expected. I liked getting to see what happened before A New Hope. The acting, as in most Star Wars movies, was not that impressive though. Nice action flick.

Burning Sands

Burning Sands

Review: A Netflix original about hazing in a black fraternity. The acting is good, the scenes are raw and believable, but you never get a feel for the characters. Too bad, because in the end that leaves the film less than memorable.

My Scientology Movie

My Scientology Movie

Review: A very entertaining documentary about scientology by Louis Theroux. Nothing really new comes out in this one, but I love how he handles these complete lunatics.

Paterson

Paterson

Review: I don't know what it is about Paterson, but I really loved it. Nothing much happens in it, but the way the life of the characters goes on, the more I want to be around them.

T2 Trainspotting

T2 Trainspotting

Review: I can't even begin to say how much I've been looking forward to this film. I'm still in love with the original film, so needless to say I was psyched about this one. And it's good. It's just not as good as I had hoped. It relies a bit too much on the first film, and don't really seem to be able to stand on it's own two feet. Worth watching of course if you, like me, loved the first film, but all in all it's not that special.

Be Here Now

Be Here Now

Review: The actor Andy Whitfield was unknown to me before watching this documentary. Don't want to give away too much of it if you never heard of him, but it was a warm and human story about this man and his struggles.

Rating: 5.5/10

Snowden

Snowden

Review: This dramatization about Edward Snowden and his work to release classified information regarding illegal mass surveillance is worth watching. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the perfect actor for this role and the result is great in capturing the character.
